Sometimes, I get an idea to create something, and I push everything else to the back burner because I just have to bring it to life. That’s exactly what happened with these printable “Boo” pennants.
Did I need to make them? No.
Did I have more pressing tasks on my to-so list? Absolutely.
But sometimes my soul aches to create something, and this time I decided to let my creativity run wild! And I have to admit, I’m so happy with how they turned out.
It all started because, on Sunday night, our doorbell rang just as the kids were getting ready for bed. When we opened the door, there was no one there, but on the porch sat a fun bucket of Halloween goodies: candy, squishy toys, jack-o’-lantern plates, and some cookies.
We had been “BOO-ed!”
If you’re not familiar with the tradition, “Boo-ing” is a fun way to spread Halloween cheer around the neighborhood. You secretly leave a treat on a neighbor’s doorstep with a note that says they’ve been “Boo-ed,” encouraging them to do the same for someone else. It’s basically a chain reaction of spooky kindness—and my kids love it!
So of course, we had to “Boo” someone else to keep the tradition going! As we were gathering treats and planning our delivery, I decided we needed a cute tag to go with our goodies. One idea led to another, and soon I was designing these festive “Boo” pennants.
I couldn’t stop at just one design, so I ended up with FOUR. Two have white backgrounds (more ink-friendly), and two are black. I love them all.
Which one is your favorite? I’d love to hear! Vote in the comments at the end of the post.

How to Use These Free Printable “Boo” Pennants
Now that we’ve made our pennants, what can we DO with them?
We used our pennants to make our “Boo” basket gifts extra cute, but there are so many other fun ways to use them, too! Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Dress Up a Boo Basket: Attach a pennant to a stick (chopsticks or bamboo skewers work great) and tuck it into your “You’ve Been Booed” gift basket for a festive finishing touch.
- Use as a Photo Prop: Add a pennant to a stick and let your kids hold it during Halloween photos. Bonus tip…tell them to make their best spooky ghost face, or say “boo” for a simple way to capture those spooky-cute memories!
- Decorate for a Party: Tape a pennant to the wall, a balloon, or your treat table for an instant pop of Halloween spirit.
- Create a Candy Centerpiece: Pop a pennant into a jar or vase filled with candy for an easy (and sweet!) decoration.
I hope these little “Boo” pennants add some extra fun to your Halloween festivities this year. Whether you’re surprising a neighbor, decorating your home, or just looking for a simple creative project, these printables are the perfect quick and easy project for busy moms.
